Bitget’s User Base Surges to 25 Million Amid Crypto Market Boom
The recent surge of Bitcoin (BTC) to historical highs has propelled Bitget, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, to expand its client base to over 25 million users. This growth coincides with a significant increase in spot and futures volumes in February, indicating a strong market presence for the exchange.
Just three months ago, Bitget celebrated its 2023 results, showcasing an impressive increase in its client base from 8 to 20 million and nearly doubling its trading volumes. The beginning of 2024 has brought further growth, with Bitget adding another 5 million investors in the first two months alone. This milestone underscores Bitget’s commitment to providing a dynamic and secure trading environment for its users, as noted by Gracy Chen, the Managing Director of Bitget.
Recent strategic moves aimed at global expansion have further bolstered Bitget’s growth. In February, the company appointed Alvin Kan as the new Chief Operating Officer and announced plans to leverage its partnership with global football legend Leo Messi to attract traders in Latin America.
In February 2024, the cryptocurrency market experienced a notable uptick in momentum, with total open interest in BTC and Ethereum (ETH) reaching new highs. This positive trend was reflected in Bitget’s trading volumes, which saw a 21% increase in the spot market and a 22% uplift in the futures market, despite a reduction in trading days due to the Lunar New Year holiday. Additionally, Bitget’s native token, BGB, surged by 64%, surpassing the $1 threshold and achieving a record high of $1.15.
Bitget’s copy trading feature also saw significant growth, with 5,200 professional traders and over 21,260 new followers joining the platform in January. This growth solidifies Bitget’s position as the leading global crypto copy-trading exchange, with traders collectively sharing over 780,000 USDT and followers gaining nearly 11.4 million USDT in profits.
Looking ahead, Bitget remains optimistic about the future, with Chen stating, “The future looks incredibly bright, and we’re just getting started.”
